KNOW ABOUT THE HOLY DHU'AL HIJJAH MONTH

DHU'AL-HIJJAH is the twelfth and final month in the Islamic calendar. It is a very sacred month in the Islamic calendar, one in which the Hajj (pilgrimage) takes place as well as the Festival of the Sacrifice.

"Dhu'al-Hijjah" literally means "Possessor of the Pilgrimage" or "The Month of the Pilgrimage". During this month Muslim pilgrims from all around the world congregate at Mecca to visit the Kaaba. The Hajj is performed on the eighth, ninth and the tenth of this month. Day of Arafah takes place on the ninth of the month. Eid al-Adha, the "Festival of the Sacrifice", begins on the tenth day and ends on sunset of the 13th.

Hazrat Ibn' Abbas says about the Aayah, "Remember Allaah during the well known days," that it refers to the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
Allaah swears an oath by them, and swearing an oath by something is indicative of its importance and great benefit. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning) "By the dawn; by the 10 nights" [al-Fajr 89:1-2]. Ibn Abbaas, Ibn al-Zubayr, Mujaahid and others of the earlier and later generations said that this refers to the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. Ibn Katheer said: "This is the correct opinion." [Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 8/413

THINGS TO DO DURING THE FIRST 10-DAYS OF THIS HOLY MONTH -

1. Give up a sin - One at a time

Not only will Allah be pleased with you, but He will replace whatever you give up for Him with something better.

2. Fast (for the first 9 days)

Allah made sometimes better for worship than others and the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are just that. Fast for 9 days, including Arafah, and get the sins of 2 years forgiven.

3. Make the ritual sacrifice

It is not the blood and meat that reaches Allah, it is your piety that reaches Him. Follow His command and the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace be upon him). Distribute the meat to the needy.

4. Remember Allah

It is Sunnah to recite tasbeeh, remembrance of Allah, during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar

5. Give in charity

The rewards of doing good deeds during these days are increased. So give to charity.
If you do it while fasting, that’s a plus!

6. Make Du’a

Make Du’a, supplications, particularly on the day of Arafah. Make the most of these golden days.

7. Recite the Qur’an

As much or as little you can, recite it. Understand it. Read more about the significance of putting Allah over everything and everyone. And follow it with action!

Takbir al-Tashreeq (Arabic: تكبير التشريق) is a prayer recited by Muslims and pilgrims after every Fardh Salah during Hajj or at home...

Starting immediately after Fajr Salah on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, it is Wajib for Hajj pilgrims to audibly recite Takbir al-Tashreeq at least once after every Fardh Salah, up to and including Asr Salah on the 13th of Dhul Hijjah (a total of 23 Fardh Salahs).
Takbir al-Tashreeq is the recitation of the following:

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ وَاَللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْد

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La Ilaha Ilallahu Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa Lillahil Hamd.
Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. There is no deity besides Allah and Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest and all praises are for Allah only.
